Harley-Davidson India has introduced the X440T at a price of Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom), marking it as the second-smallest offering in the brand’s Indian lineup. Built on the same platform as the X440, this new model carries subtle styling tweaks that set it apart from its sibling. The launch aligns with Harley-Davidson’s refreshed cruiser lineup in India, broadening the brand’s appeal among local riders.
In addition, the X440 lineup has been revised: the base Denim trim has been discontinued, and prices have been reduced for the remaining variants. The lineup now comprises two options: Vivid and S. The Vivid variant has become more affordable with a Rs 20,000 price cut, bringing its ex-showroom price to Rs 2,34,500. The premium S trim saw a larger reduction of Rs 24,600, lowering its price to Rs 2,54,900.
The X440 is powered by a 440cc single-cylinder engine delivering 27 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 38 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. Coupled with a six-speed gearbox and a slip-assist clutch, the long-stroke engine offers smooth, torquey performance suited for both city commuting and highway cruising while preserving Harley-Davidson’s characteristic character. It rides on 18-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, with upside-down front forks and twin rear shock absorbers to ensure balanced handling.
Harley-Davidson X440 Vivid
The X440 Vivid swaps the Denim’s tube-type, spoke-wheel setup for multi-spoke alloys and is offered in Metallic Thick Red, Metallic Dark Silver, Mustard, and Goldfish Silver. It comes equipped with an auto LED headlamp, a TFT display, KYB suspension, and a range of features that deliver a premium package with the familiar Harley-Davidson feel.
Harley-Davidson X440 S
With the Denim base trim no longer available, the X440 lineup now focuses on two variants: Vivid and S. The S trims emphasizes higher tech and premium touches, standing out as the top-tier model. Notable features include a distinctive 3D fuel-tank emblem that isn’t found on rivals, diamond-cut alloy multi-spoke wheels, and a 3.5-inch TFT display with the Connect 2.0 suite for smartphone pairing, navigation, and music control. Color options for the S include Matte Black and Baja Orange.
Would you consider the X440 family for your next ride, given the price reductions and the revised feature sets, or do you think the Denim trim’s discontinuation leaves too large a gap in the lineup?
